HandsOn™ and Feet Forward – Part 4 of 4

This is the last of a four-part blog series about adapting to change. Each of them introduced what I consider to be the three approaches that are needed to manage change and grow – which are some of the greatest mountains that we face. And, as change is one of the few guarantees that we have in life; learning to effectively manage change is of the utmost importance for success. Making decisions and taking actions toward becoming your highest self and climbing to your highest peaks, is of the utmost importance for achieving happiness and fulfillment.

Ready to move?

Too often, many of us (and yes, I’ve been there too!) have done all the prep work, mapped out what needs to be done and yet failed to follow through. We back up, find something else we need to tweak, edit, or even clean the house instead. We fail to move forward in the places we know we must, and opt to “make headway” on things that could, but really should not command our time in the moment. We don’t get our HandsOn™ and feet moving forward!

Taking consistent and decisive action requires big bold steps, and an unshakeable belief in what you are doing.

If you don’t take the first step, you can’t take the next … and if you don’t take that next one, and the ones after that, you’re not going to reach the destination you intend and desire. You’ve got to move those hands and feet. There is no other way to climb a mountain!

Looking back on this series, I have been pleased to see how it has managed to capture the core of the 3H Approach. No fancy concepts you can’t remember – instead, the understanding that all the key elements you need to succeed are already a part of you – your Head, Heart and Hands.

Although we might start with our imagination and our ideas when climbing individual mountains, it’s truly important to remember that your heart energy takes the true leadership role … and yet, without movement, you can only dream and never proceed toward your goal.

And so, we come back to the central theme of today’s blog — and this weekend’s video — HandsOn™. Remember being told as a child, and seeing the signs scattered throughout your life: “Hands Off!”. That meant that you were to stay in your lane and not dare touch anything that had not been handed to you. While these rules may be fair and fast when pertaining to people and their property, they should be disregarded when talking about your dreams and destiny. Better to distinguish yourself for yourself and then for others. Universities and progressive employers are looking for people who dare to be someone with a different perspective … and do what others dare not do. So yes, our new term HandsOn™ is a way of being and doing that makes a significant difference to your success. With your empowered self, you can and will expand, transform, and change the world!

I invite you to drop me a line at [email protected] and I’d be pleased to share exciting 2022 opportunities, including our work-life training program for professional women, The Practice of Life™. I would be honored to work with you.

As I close this series, I thank you for your comments and words of support. I encourage you to fully embrace and allow what you believe, think, and do to be directed towards where you want and need to be. There is no point in doing otherwise—you can’t reach your destination without these steps.

Watch the follow-up video, where I share some practical steps to turn thought and feeling into effective action.

Be HandsOn™!
