What Matters Enough?

What matters enough for you to do something about it? We give a lot of attention to things that – at the end of the day – simply are not essential. They may be reasonably important aspects in our lives, just not ‘that’ important.

People who do not have western world luxuries know for sure what really matters to them: if they don’t leave in time to fetch the morning water – the family will not have any, no sales – no food, if the donkey is sick – no commerce for the day.

Very clear-cut.

Some people give loads of attention to their cars, their work, what their friends are saying about them, or an image they wish to project in the world.

Dr. Marian Porter (who will facilitate an important segment of LIAM’s spring retreat April 19-21st) says: “What matters to me? The word ‘wholeness’ jumped into my head … we are so fragmented today … we leave pieces of ourselves in all directions. We sell pieces of ourselves for approval … we give pieces of ourselves away … “

Regarding health, she continued, “It’s time to stop putting off doing something … some day … when you get around to it. The time to do it is NOW, not tomorrow or some distant time in the future”.

So, figure out what you need to tackle first and then like Nike says “just do it”.

You’re worth it!
