Okay, you’re finished with what you ‘coulda’, ‘woulda’ or ‘shoulda’ done during 2021 … because, well, it’s over and done! Sure, there’s bound to be unfulfilled promises or goals you may have decided to bring forward and assign new timelines in 2022. It happens. Nevertheless, at least two questions remain: Where are you going now, and how do you intend to get there?
At the start of each new year, you have 365 days of landscape to navigate. How do you feel about that? Have you solidified your why and purpose around your goals? And how is your calendar shaping up? If you are anything like many professional women, your planner may sound something like this:
You have the medical appointments scheduled. Check. You factored in all the routine monthly meetings. Check. Work deadlines. Check. Check. Important dates (weddings/birthdays/anniversaries). Check, check, check … And all the rest of your ever-growing, often ad hoc, to do list.
Now, where did you factor in your wants and needs, some me-time that helps you attain the more balanced life you crave? Don’t forget yourself! Many of us have not stopped yet to (re)imagine our future, nor created our specific road map to guide us through the year. Go ahead and get it done … this weekend! When you have identified and clarified your goals, then you can more confidently start out on the journey toward the destinations you desire – do not let today’s uncertainties and fears stop you from dreaming and planning.
The quality of your journey on Mt. 2022 depends on how well you navigate the hills, valleys, and plateaus that you meet along the way. Again, fill in your map, and leave basecamp, as soon as you can! Prepare to both embrace the opportunities and be fearless when you face the inevitable challenges that cross your path.
Remember that YOU are the hiker, on the journey of a lifetime – Happy 2022!
P.S. I will share an activity that has served to give me a jump start on my year – watch out for my next video.
