The Frequency of the Ascent: Why Your Internal Radio Matters

Hello, fellow explorers.

As many of you know, I spent February on a “Strategic Pause”… I stepped off the main trail, paused the constant “doing” of Mountain Peak Strategies, and went inward.

I traded the vertical climb for the horizontal expanse of an “Inside-Out Safari,” I’m still shaking the dust of the inner plains off my boots, and I’ll be honest: at first, the silence was loud.

As high-achievers, we are conditioned to believe that if we aren’t ascending, we are sliding backward. But, through my mind’s eye, as I watched the clumsy grace of the giraffes and the communal rhythm of the elephants at the watering hole, a different truth emerged:

We often fail to reach our summits not because we lack the strength, but because we are climbing at the wrong frequency.

The Logic of the Signal

In mountaineering, your greatest tool isn’t kept in your backpack; it’s your situational awareness. You have to read the terrain. You have to listen to what the mountain is telling you… what “Gaia” is telling you… and what YOU are telling you

If the winds change and the clouds shift their hue, but you ignore it because you’re too busy “hustling” to the top, you put the entire expedition at risk.

The blog post I shared in February addressed this: “Adjusting our dials to the right frequencies allows us to hear and perceive better, like fine-tuning a radio.” So, this month, we are focusing on Tuning Into the Terrain.

For years, I’ve shared the mechanics of the 3-H Approach and the 7-Steps.

They are the “how” of the climb.

But from this month forward, I want to share more of the “why” through the stories I encounter on my own path, and the “expedition stories”  of those I serve. You’re going to see a shift in these MuseLetters—more personal observations, more real-life “tales from the trail,” and more raw truths learned through experience.

Why “Head” Focus Matters Now

Before we can act (Hands) or even fully feel (Heart), we have to use our Head to acknowledge the frequency we are currently tuned to.

Most of us are tuned into “Station CLAMOR .” It’s the frequency of notifications, endless to-do lists, and the “busy-ness” that masks our lack of direction. When we are on this frequency, we can’t hear the wisdom Gaia is pouring forth, and we miss the “instructions” that come through stillness.

Remember this: having a focused mind and an expanded consciousness is a strong strategic choice.

It is the decision to reach out and turn the dial.

It’s saying: “I will stop the noise so I can hear the signals.”

Preparing for the Watering Hole

This Saturday, March 7th at 12 noon EST, we are gathering at our “Safari Zoom” Watering Hole. Come share your journey, and the importance of your destination… Come witness and be witnessed in an intimate, supportive group. I want to see your maps. I want to hear what you saw on your inner plains.

We remember the dynamic lessons of stories and would love to hear yours, too. So, if you missed the February MuseLetter, didn’t get ‘the memo,’ or the dog ate your “homework,” join us anyway. Email me at the address at the bottom to receive the link.

But as we prepare for that gathering, I want you to look at your current “Internal Terrain.” Are you trying to force a climb through a whiteout of noise? Or are you willing to pause, adjust your dial, and listen for the wisdom that is already trying to reach you?

The summit is still there. But the path to it is much clearer when you’re tuned into the right frequency.

Next Steps:

  • Mark your calendars: Our Safari Zoom Meeting is Saturday, March 7th at 12 noon EST. If you haven’t received the link, email me! [email protected]
  • Reflect: This week, just notice the “noise.” Where is the clamor preventing you from hearing the “instruction” of your own life?

See you at the Watering Hole,
