Retreat, Set, Grow!

Do you remember how you would take off when you heard “On your marks, get set, GO!?” The race was on!

And, for many of us, the race is still on – it doesn’t seem to stop and we have relays that include goals to hurdle, life ponds to cross and personal mountains to climb. It just keeps us moving. Constantly.

These three words were ‘downloaded’ to me this morning. As I pondered their meaning here is what I perceived:

Retreat means pausing in your tracks. Going within and slowing things down just a tad bit. Allowing for some special time every day for however many minutes work for you. Carving out longer periods on a weekly or monthly basis. You set your own parameters.

The key is finding the time to ‘be’ … no particular activity or methodology required. Make your dates and times and try really hard not to let anything steer you off this special space and place of being.

Then, Set stands for allowing time to also tune into an internal ‘channel’ that you watch your favorite movie on … a movie that you create and watch over and over again. It holds your intentions for the day, for the week or for whatever time frame you determine.

And lastly, Grow indicating an inner expansion or movement. One that is hardly perceptible from the outside. Think cocoon: self-contained and yet, transformational. You long for the time spent here and trust the process.

On your marks …
