This past weekend, I had the privilege of facilitating participants from the Unity of Washington DC’s Fall Retreat in Capon Springs, West Virginia.
They were an intimate group of people who empowered each other by stepping outside their comfort zones; questioning and seeking answers from deep within themselves; and moving toward what scares them the most.
Tracy, a member of the retreat group, quoted my recent blog Holland Is Not A Country:
“There are times in our lives when we realize we either have to (re)discover who we truly are or (maybe slightly more simply) “re-brand” ourselves because we have changed – we are no longer who, how or where we used to be.”
Her reference spoke to us all, and for me it was also like hearing one’s own thoughts through someone else’s listening.
Then, using poetically and beautifully charged language, she shared an intention to transform her own image in a way she has always known resided within.
You may recognize when “enough is enough” and decide to launch a suppressed desire you may have held for longer than you’d like to admit.
A few thoughts from other participants:
→ It takes a leap of courage to move from ‘playing it safe’ to the joy of exploring “new nuggets of knowledge” as Jean so aptly put it.
→ Lawrence demonstrated how he could set himself free by acknowledging the very feelings that had impeded him in his past.
→ And Rachel passionately shared the poem “She Let Go” by Safire Rose as a way of launching her own intentions to simply, and fully, let go.
I believe in the power of the individual to uncover her unique process which not only sets her free but invites her to soar!
Are you living your life like it’s golden?!
