It Takes A Team To Climb A Mountain™

Theoretically, most of us understand the value of our teams. Yet, we don’t always fully realize and appreciate their true and essential contributions and roles in how we reach our goals. If you happen to be guilty of this, it’s a good time to think again.

This lesson was solidified as a reality when I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Each.
Person.
On.
Your.
Team.
Counts.

And yes, even those who are there to teach the harder lessons in life.

I am particularly grateful to my life’s Mountain Team Members who work with me every day as we use this last quarter to expand and grow our mission and vision (watch this spot…)

Our core team: my son Adeyemi works out of the Netherlands with Kerrianne who is in England; Katherine in Maryland, Adam in Ohio, and Marva and Nicole in Florida. I welcome our newest member Marcus, also out of the Netherlands.

Each performs essential roles that free and help me to be who I need to be and do what I must to harness the opportunities that come our way. They are also instrumental in how we overcome the challenges too.

And of course, I have a core team on the personal front who are also life treasures.

Think about your own climb teams … your family, community, and co-workers. The more gratitude and appreciation you show them, the more they form a bond and enthusiastically collaborate to reach goals that are both excellent and extraordinary.

Navigating life and all the mountains we climb can be daunting … especially when you feel you have to do it alone.

Who’s on your team?

How can they help your company finish up the year strong and in balance?

Equally important (at least), how can you help them to be the best they can be?

Step up to your own personal and professional challenges and reach beyond the summits you have planned for next year. Here are two important tips:

  1. Be the change you wish to see, and
  2. Learn to lead and be led.

I couldn’t be without our team!

What about you?
