Enough Space Between Us?

Do you ever get caught up in protecting your space … that sense of ownership of what you consider to be yours, personally and professionally? We want to stand out from the crowd. And, we do not want someone else to take our stuff and claim it as their own creation. It’s okay to admit this – and yes, it’s common and a little stressful too. I’ve been there.

Metaphorically, I like to think that the world-famous Pitons in St. Lucia represent how each one of us is innately different and distinctive, in spite of the Pitons being referred to as the twin peaks.

Space is important and distinguishes us both individually and collectively from the other. We hear all the time that we are unique. Be confident in that fact. We really don’t have anything to fear. In our very own ways, we are here to contribute to the whole.

As Kahlil Gibran said in The Prophet “… the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.”

Do what’s yours to do, to the best of your ability. If you don’t like something, then learn to be better and do better.

Confidently bring your gifts and talents. Value your space yet understand how much more we can actually do together.

There’s enough space!
