A Walker’s Journey

A power is instilled and restored within us by walking on our earth. An even greater download occurs when we consciously open every pore and portal as we listen, breathe and absorb her lessons, gifts – her wealth.

During my lifetime, I have been privileged to cover hundreds of miles on foot across some very special places on our earth. After experiences that have taken me in vertical, horizontal and circular-like directions, I am often at a loss for words that accurately describe what I have witnessed.

I don’t know how many steps it took me to cover 192 miles in 13 days during my Wainwright Coast to Coast Path across England, May 18 – 30th 2015 – however, each day I had to begin again, from where I had left off, and start with that one step, followed by another and another. And so our journeys are enriched by each and every solitary footstep we choose in our lives.

I don’t know how to photograph the wind, the wild and the wonderful that scatters miles and miles of hills, valleys, moors, streams, rivers and remote open land that never seems to end. And yet, we treasure each snapshot that holds a memory of what we experience through our life journeys.

I don’t know how to express the feeling of labored exhaustion when the heart races at each effort on a steep stone path or describe the exhilaration looking back at a single day’s accomplishment. However, we each know there are empowering experiences that we will treasure, hold as fuel for harder times, and never forget.

I do know there are raw, glorious untouched natural landscapes in our minds that are richly comparable to what is expressed in our outer world … that there’s so much to explore right where we are and that each life adventure we embark upon has the ability to increase our wisdom and abundance.

I do know that we walk our walk with angels and guides beside us as we contemplate life’s possibilities, learn lessons and fulfill our dreams.

And, I know that we are always connected to a Higher Power as we walk our paths on this earth…
