A Reminder (to myself) — Assess Your Plateau

It had been ages since my last blog, I was out of the flow … and time just seemed to keep passing. But, before the self-criticism had reached full swing, I decided to go back and assess this plateau (step 6 of our 7-step model).

So, I asked: where am I on my Mountain? What have I accomplished in the period I am judging? How have I spent my time?

Well, during this so-called “blog plateau”, I have begun to finalize and market two new programs which I will share and launch in the coming months; made finishing touches to our upcoming summer retreat in St. Lucia; I went on ‘safari’ (which means a journey in Kiswahili) with my husband, to a special, wish list destination – Namibia, and to the Netherlands (twice) to visit my adorable grandson.

In the end, time well spent, although all my “Plateaus” have not all looked like this one. Yes, I have been particularly busy, both with wonderful time away with family and some big final pushes in my work-life too.

So, this time, I quickly determined that this wasn’t a plateau during which I needed to “pull up my boots” … I never really left the path. However, I had made some conscious choices to pause on specific parts of my normal routine, including my weekly blogs. That’s the essence of assessing your plateau – asking why you’re pausing or stopping, and understanding what you need to do about it, if anything.

I gave myself the break, celebrated my accomplishments and embraced all the steps along my journey – and the pauses in between them.

And here I am. Back with you. Energized and excited. With plenty to share …

All for this moment,
